Job summary

Cura Health is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan and lead meaningful activities that promote socialization, independence, and engagement for residents. You will work closely with residents, families, and staff to create a positive and engaging facility environment.

The role emphasizes compassion, creativity, and teamwork, with responsibilities ranging from individual visits to coordinating outings and events. A high school diploma and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, organized, creative, and able to work well as part of a team.
• Ability to work effectively with older adults and residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.
• Previous experience in activities, recreation, healthcare, or long-term care is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging individual and group activities.
• Encourage resident participation based on individual interests and abilities.
• Provide one-on-one activities and visits as needed.
• Assist residents to and from activities.
• Help coordinate outings, special events, and holiday celebrations.
• Maintain activity calendars, participation records, and required documentation.
• Keep activity areas and supplies organized, clean, and safe.
• Build positive relationships with residents and families.
• Follow facility policies, resident rights, and regulatory requirements.
