ROE 9 Champaign-Ford County School Districts is seeking a compassionate Paraprofessional to support students in the COMPASS classroom at Mahomet-Seymour High School. The paraprofessional will work with students who have moderate-severe disabilities within a functional life skills curriculum and collaborate with certified staff to support academics, behavior, and daily routines.

Applicants must hold an Illinois Paraprofessional License (or Teaching License) and be willing to be trained in crisis

Formación

• Illinois Paraprofessional License or Teaching License required
• Experience with students with behavioral, emotional, or academic needs preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm and responsive in challenging situations
• Must be willing to be trained in crisis prevention and intervention

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct support to students in the COMPASS classroom under supervision of certified staff
• Assist with implementing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions
• Support students with assignments, organization, and task completion
• Help maintain a structured, calm, and supportive learning environment
• Assist with behavior monitoring and de-escalation strategies
• Supervise students during transitions, breaks, lunch, or other times
• Collect and maintain student progress and behavior data as directed
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to meet student needs
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
• Perform other duties as assigned
