Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of individualized instructional and behavioral plans under the direction of certified staff.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group academic and behavioral support.
  • Reinforce social-emotional and independent living skills throughout the school day.
  • Assist with behavior intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques as directed.
  • Support students during classroom instruction, transitions, lunch, electives, community-based activities, and other school routines.
  • Collect and document student progress and behavioral data as requested.
  • Prepare instructional materials and assist in maintaining a structured, safe, and organized learning environment.

Mahomet-Seymour Junior High is accepting applications for a COMPASS Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, related service providers, and administrators to provide academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional support in a structured learning environment that promotes student growth, independence, and success.

Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of individualized instructional and behavioral plans under the direction of certified staff.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group academic and behavioral support.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to assist students with academic, behavioral, and personal care needs as assigned.
  • Must be able to pass a physical abilities test prior to starting employment.

Please see the attached 2025-2026 Aide Salary Schedule and 2026 Employee Benefits summary. NOTE: Our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement expired at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we are currently negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year.
