Mahomet-Seymour Junior High is accepting applications for a COMPASS Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. • Must have an Illinois ELS Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement or Short-Term Approval prior to employment.
• Experience with diverse learning, behavioural, and communication needs preferred.
• Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to assist students with academic, behavioural, and personal care needs as assigned.
• Must be able to pass a physical abilities test prior to starting employment.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of individualized instructional and behavioural plans under the direction of certified staff.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group academic and behavioural support.
• Reinforce social-emotional and independent living skills throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Must have an Illinois ELS Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement or the Short-Term Approval for the Paraprofessional or the ability to obtain one of these licence options prior to employment.
• Experience working with students with diverse learning, behavioural, and communication needs is preferred.
• Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to assist students with academic, behavioural, and personal care needs as assigned.
• Must be able to pass a physical abilities test prior to starting employment.
