Job summary

NANA seeks a Digital Navigator for its Village Office to assist tribal members in accessing affordable internet, devices, and digital skills. The role provides individualized and small-group support, in person or via phone, email, text, or video chat, to help clients become effective home internet users and participate online fully.

The position is part-time, averaging 4 hours per day, Monday through Friday, based in the NANA Village Office, with responsibilities including outreach, goal

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of customer service or related experience; volunteer experience may be considered.
• Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, patient, and respectful manner.

Responsibilities

• Initiate interactions with clients seeking assistance.
• Discuss with each client their home internet access needs and technology experience.
• Assess clients’ access to technology and set agreed goals for navigator services.
• Advise clients about free or low-cost home internet services and assist with applications.
• Provide information about sources of low-cost devices and repair services.
• Coach clients to use home internet to meet priorities, via in-person, phone or online methods.
• Track clients’ progress, keep records, and report outcomes.
