Job summary

Middlebury College is seeking a temporary part-time food service associate to support Retail Food Operations, including food production and front-of-house tasks. Weekday lunch hours required, non-benefits eligible, with starting pay of $20.52–$25.13 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of experience in food service or related field, or an education/experience mix.
• Good communication and ability to follow instructions in a team setting.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• Knowledge of proper food equipment operation, maintenance, and cleaning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other foods for cooking on a range and equipment.
• Lead food production, including cutting and prep of vegetables, meats, and cheeses.
• Follow standard portion sizes, methods, quality standards, and procedures.
• Occasionally serve alcohol to a diverse population in accordance with Vermont laws.
• Occasionally assist with POS and FOH operations, including cash operations.
• Observe safe food handling, assist with receiving and deliveries.
• Maintain sanitation standards, including logs, storage, prep areas, dishes, and floors.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager on duty.
