AHRC Nassau is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide ongoing support to individuals in Day Habilitation and ICF programs, promoting independence and quality of life in a community-based setting. DSPs assist with self-care, health, safety, socialization, and growth, including transportation and liaison duties across multiple program sites.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills, and a valid NYS driver license, with a preference for

Competenze

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Good oral and written communication skills are essential.
• AMAP/First Aid/CPR/SCIP-R training is preferred.
• Valid NYS Driver License is required; maintain and transfer to NYS if applicable.
• You must maintain a NYS Driver’s License as per the agency policy.
• If holding an out-of-state license, transfer to NYS within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum one year experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.

Mansioni

• Ensures safety of program volunteers at all sites and hubs.
• Trains volunteers to perform tasks at primary and partner sites.
• Acts as second staff supporting transportation between sites.
• Liaises between site staff and volunteers.
• Prompt volunteers to interact appropriately with peers and staff.
• Reports volunteers’ satisfaction and concerns to Site Manager.
• Completes all required documentation.
• Promotes agency philosophies and inclusion.
• Ensures safety of volunteers and reports incidents per policy.
• Attends mandatory trainings and maintains required certifications.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
