Job summary

AHRC Nassau seeks a Direct Support Professional Supervisor to lead and train DSP staff, ensuring high-quality daily support for individuals with developmental needs. You will coordinate scheduling, document staff performance, and help with training to maintain safe, supportive environments.

Responsibilities include assisting with treatment plans, overseeing transportation arrangements, and collaborating with site RN and physicians. A valid NY driver’s license and AMAP certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Valid NYS Driver's License throughout employment.
• One year experience with the developmentally disabled and AMAP certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication, plus organizational and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train Direct Support Professionals to support individuals and quality of life.
• Assist with training of new staff to ensure adequate staffing.
• Maintain weekly staff schedules based on resident needs and availability.
• Keep records of time, attendance, performance and training needs.
• Ensure treatment plan documentation is complete daily.
• Coordinate transportation for medical appointments and liaise with RN/physicians.
