Giant Steps seeks Trainers for its Specialized Day Program Department to work 1-on-1 with individuals needing supervision in the community or group settings, following a structured curriculum and schedule.

You will pick up and drop off individuals daily, supervise and assist closely, and contribute to a respectful, supportive environment while meeting the organization’s values and care standards.

Qualifications

• Passion for helping others

• Patience, empathy and understanding
• Willingness to learn and grow in role
• Experience with developmentally disabled population preferred
• DSP 1 and DSP 2 certifications preferred
• Must pass background screening with DOJ
• Must pass drug screening
• Must have valid CA driver's license and 5 years driving experience

Responsibilities

• Work 1-on-1 with individuals needing supervision in the community or group settings
• Pick up and drop off individuals from home daily
• Supervise and assist clients closely throughout the day
• Follow a formal schedule and curriculum based on individual needs
