Giant Steps seeks Trainers for its Specialized Day Program Department to work 1-on-1 with individuals needing supervision in the community or group settings, following a structured curriculum and schedule.

You will pick up and drop off individuals daily, supervise and assist closely, and contribute to a respectful, supportive environment while meeting the organization’s values and care standards.

Description

We are currently seeking Trainers to join our Specialized Day Program Department. As a Trainer, you will work 1 on 1 with individuals who need constant supervision out in the community and/or in group settings. Responsibilities include picking up and dropping off individuals from their home daily, supervising and assisting client closely throughout the day, following a formal schedule and curriculum based on the individual's needs.

Must be able to speak basic English/Debe hablar ingles basico

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Experience working with developmentally disabled population (preferred)
• DSP 1 and DSP 2 certifications (strongly preferred)
• Must be able to pass physical and TB test
• Must have a valid CA driver's license, acceptable driving record and 5 years of driving experience
• Must pass background screening with Department of Justice
• Must pass drug screening
