Job summary

AbilityFirst is seeking a full-time Community Coach I in Los Angeles, CA. You will support participants with developmental disabilities through structured programming, maintain safety, and document progress. You will help with personal care, activities, and community participation.

The role requires strong communication, adherence to PCP goals, and ability to work a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional weekends. A valid driver’s license is preferred and driving may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• 12 ECE college units may be required for childcare programs.
• 1–2 years of experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must be able to provide physical assistance including lifting or transferring.
• Proficiency in documentation systems and data management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise participants; ensure health, safety, and engagement.
• Work within staffing ratio; implement daily activities and PCP goals.
• Document daily participant progress; report concerns promptly.
• Provide personal care and assist with activities as needed.
• Supervise community outings and drive agency vehicles when approved.
