Job summary

AbilityFirst in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Community Coach I (Part-Time) to support participants with developmental disabilities and help them achieve personal goals within community activities.

The role emphasizes safety, personal care, activity facilitation, and progress documentation as part of a hands-on direct service team. Requires willingness to work evenings/weekends and to obtain certifications as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• 12 ECE college units may be required for childcare programs.
• 1-2 years of experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must provide physical assistance including lifting or transferring.
• Willingness to participate in swimming and community activities.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise participants; ensure health, safety, and engagement.
• Work within staffing ratio; implement activities reflecting PCP goals.
• Create inclusive group activities and monthly calendars.
• Complete daily progress documentation; report concerns promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality and participant dignity.
• Drive agency vehicles or accompany participants on transport when approved.
