Job summary

AbilityFirst is seeking a Community Coach I (Full-Time) at the Lawrence L. Frank Center in Pasadena, CA. You will supervise participants, implement activities, and document progress while ensuring safety and engagement in a 40-hour, Mon-Fri schedule.

The role requires lifting capabilities, driving eligibility, and adherence to mandated reporting, with a mission to support people with developmental and physical disabilities in daily life and community integration.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 12 ECE units may be required for childcare programs.
• 1–2 years of experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must be able to provide physical assistance including lifting or transferring participants.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise participants; ensure health, safety and engagement.
• Work within designated staffing ratio throughout the program day.
• Implement daily activities aligned with PCP goals.
• Create and facilitate engaging, inclusive group activities.
• Document participant progress and outcomes regularly.
