Job summary

AbilityFirst in Pasadena is seeking a Community Coach I to support participants with developmental disabilities in achieving personal goals through structured programming. This full-time role requires hands-on participant supervision, documentation, and collaboration with the team to implement PCP goals.

The position involves personal care, community outings, and occasional evenings/weekends. A high school diploma is required; some college or related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 12 ECE college units may be required for childcare programs.
• 1-2 years of experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Must provide physical assistance including lifting or transferring participants.
• Willingness to participate in swimming and community activities is required.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise participants; ensure health, safety, and engagement.
• Work within staffing ratio; implement PCP goals.
• Complete daily documentation of participant progress.
• Maintain confidentiality and participant rights.
• Drive agency vehicles or accompany participants on public transport as needed.
