Job summary

AbilityFirst in Pasadena is seeking a Community Coach I to support individuals with developmental disabilities in daily activities and community participation. You will implement structured activities, monitor safety, and document progress as part of a dedicated direct-service team.

The role requires a high school diploma, willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid, and ability to work evenings or weekends as needed. Driving may be required for program needs.

Qualifications

• A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 12 ECE college units may be required for childcare programs.
• 1-2 years of experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise participants at all times with focus on health, safety and engagement.
• Work within the designated staffing ratio and implement daily activities reflecting PCP goals.
• Complete accurate daily documentation of participant progress.
• Provide personal care and assist with mobility as needed.
• Support participants in community outings and access to volunteer opportunities.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings for professional growth.
