Join Our Team as a Community Support Specialist at Simple Steps LLC

We are currently hiring for the position of Community Support Specialist in the Bowie, MD area. This is a part-time role up to 12 hours per week, with the potential to increase hours based on veteran needs.

• Experience with Traumatic Brain Injury and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Job Description:

The primary focus of this role is to support our Veterans with neurological disorders, physical disabilities, and traumatic brain injuries by delivering high-quality home and community services. Responsibilities include supporting client care plans, resource engagement, client and family education, documentation, and data management. You will work collaboratively with Case Managers and families to provide social, recreational, wellness, educational, and life skills activities in the home and community, reporting to your Care Coordinator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Travel to clients’ homes and transport clients as needed
• Maintain reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
• Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, clients, and families
• Use a private laptop or desktop for HIPAA compliance
• Track goals and progress using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Reader
• Implement patient care plans through various activities
• Work independently and manage your time effectively

Additional duties may include attending community activities, assisting with organization and appointments, and supporting household management. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and walk is required.
