Job summary

The City of Prescott’s Recreation Services Department is seeking a motivated Recreation Coordinator to plan, coordinate and oversee a variety of camps, programs, classes and events for youth, adults, seniors and families.

The ideal candidate will be organized, creative, community-focused and able to manage multiple activities while engaging residents, staff and partners to enhance the community’s quality of life. CPR/First Aid required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three years of experience coordinating recreation programs, camps, or events.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Create, plan, organize, and lead camps, community events, programs and classes for diverse groups.
  • Coordinate facilities, permits, vendors, and setup/teardown for events.
  • Provide on-site supervision to ensure safety and high-quality execution.
  • Recruit interns, volunteers, vendors, and staff as needed.
  • Assist with program registration, attendance tracking, and basic reporting.
  • Promote programs through flyers, social media, newsletters, and outreach.
