Job summary

The City of Gardena Recreation Department seeks a detail-oriented professional to coordinate and deliver diverse programs for all ages. You will plan activities, supervise staff and volunteers, and ensure high-quality experiences in camps, aquatics, youth and senior programs.

You'll develop promotional materials, manage registrations, and prepare reports on program effectiveness while working under the Recreation Supervisor. Valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 60 college credits in recreation, education, administration or closely related field.
• Equivalent to three years of experience as a Recreation Leader in municipal/community services or related programs.
• Valid Class C California Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, organize, and conduct diverse recreation and community programs (day camps, aquatics, youth, seniors, sports, classes, events).
• Assist with publicity, registrations, records, and reports on program effectiveness.
• Supervise part-time staff, volunteers, and contract personnel; coordinate materials and equipment.
