Job summary

City of Hawaiian Gardens is seeking part-time Recreation Leader I to support and run a variety of recreation programs for citizens of all ages. You will serve as the on-site front desk lead, greet the public, answer inquiries, and help coordinate events and facility rentals.

Responsibilities include coaching, officiating, scheduling, promoting activities, and maintaining accurate records. Requires high school diploma or GED; CPR/First Aid certificates preferred; associate degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Two years of experience in recreation programming and leadership preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certificates required.

Responsibilities

• Leads and supports multiple recreation programs and services.
• Acts as on-site front desk person, greets the public, handles phones, and provides information.
• Coaches, officiates, keeps score, and ensures safety at sports contests.
• Develops and prints promotional materials; assists with facility rentals and scheduling.
• Maintains records, prepares simple reports, and supports city-wide events.
