Job summary

Community Housing Innovations (CHI) seeks a full-time program coordinator in Commack, NY to assess educational needs, assist with school enrollment, and coordinate transportation for families. You will liaise with DSS, attend CSE and superintendent meetings, develop tutoring programs, plan after-school activities, and help clients access housing, education and employment resources.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (or substantial related experience), strong communication skills, and a valid

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field; extensive experience may substitute.
• Knowledge of community resources required; homelessness, housing, or human services experience preferred.
• Proficiency in English; bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess educational needs of children and adults.
• Assist with school enrollment for families.
• Act as liaison with DSS to arrange transportation.
• Attend CSE and superintendent meetings as needed.
• Develop programs to enhance academic performance (tutoring, homework help).
