Job summary

Community Housing Innovations (CHI) is seeking a full-time Recreation Education Specialist for our Commack location. You will maintain attendance and transportation records for school-aged children, coordinate educational programs for adults and children, and organize fundraisers and grant applications.

This role involves liaising with DSS and school districts to ensure transportation and programming are in place.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field required.
• Experience in homelessness, housing, human services, or related field preferred (1–2 years).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive; basic computer skills (MS Windows, MS Office).
• Ability to multitask, organize, and manage schedules and records.
