Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation is seeking a Programs Assistant in Santa Barbara to support museum education and public programs across SBTHP sites. You will assist with scheduling tours, developing activities, and coordinating volunteers, while engaging diverse community members and schools.

The role is part-time, 20 hours per week on-site, with compensation $19–$21 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• BA degree or coursework in history, museum education, humanities or related field.
• Some college coursework may be acceptable.
• Experience in teaching children and adults, and volunteer management preferred.
• Conversant in Spanish preferred.
• Experience with audio/video equipment and Zoom preferred.

Responsabilités

• Supports all aspects of museum and onsite education, assists with developing, implementing, promoting and evaluating educational programs for SBTHP sites.
• Schedules on-site group tours and school field trip programs and handles related communication.
• Assists with recruitment, training, management, and evaluation of SBTHP volunteers and maintains volunteer data.
• Develops, writes and produces education-related materials and activities to enhance interpretive programming.
• Assists with event planning, staffing, and inventory of Program Department supplies.
