Qualifications

• Requires understanding of zoning, housing, occupancy, land use, and related codes.
• Experience in enforcing municipal codes and issuing notices/ citations.

Responsibilities

• Receive complaints on zoning, nuisances, and code violations; prepare case files and gather evidence.
• Determine enforcement methods and coordinate with City Attorney and other departments.
• Prepare abatement letters and conduct follow-up communications with property owners and attorneys.
• Present cases for legal action and appear in hearings as needed.
• Investigate Abandoned Vehicle Abatement and Emergency Abatement issues as assigned.
• Collaborate with outside agencies on health, safety, and environmental concerns.
• Engage in public outreach to explain code requirements and compliance options.
