Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ICC certifications must be obtained within the specified timelines (1 year for PM & Housing Inspector; 2 years for Zoning Inspector).
• Valid state driver’s license with good driving history is required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts field inspections to identify violations related to nuisance conditions, zoning, and other codes.
• Maintains accurate case records with photos, notices, orders, and notes; follows up inspections.
• Provides information on city regulations to owners, residents, contractors, engineers, businesses, and other departments.
• Responds to citizen complaints and referrals for office and field work.
• Assists with condemnation procedures and may testify in court under supervision.
