Job summary

Ascension in Milwaukee is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the Community Pharmacy. You will refill and maintain automated dispensing systems, prepare orders, and assist with sterile and non-sterile compounds while coordinating with patients and health professionals.

This role requires Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board licensure, pharmacy tech credentials (NHA or PTCB) within 180 days, and a HS diploma or higher or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board license/registration required.
• NHA or PTCB credential within 6 months of hire date.
• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience.

Responsibilities

• Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
• Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the Pharmacy department.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds.
• Repackage bulk medications.
• Receive and store incoming supplies.
• Triage calls and liaise between pharmacy, patient and health professionals.

Your future role at a glance

• Schedule: Float position| 40 hours |Full-time days | Monday-Friday 830am - 7pm (would be 8.5 hour shifts within that span, most shifts 8:30-5 or 9-5:30, occasional 10-630 or 1030-7) and every 6-8th Saturday at either St Joes 830-430 or CSMM 9-5. Gets a weekday off when working the Saturdays.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Registration with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board required. Must provide proof of application to register with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board and once registration is granted, must be maintained.
  • One or more of the following:
    • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
