Job summary

City of Wichita is seeking a full-time Community Engagement professional to develop, deliver, and coordinate educational programs through the Mid-American All-Indian Museum (MAAIM). The role emphasizes community engagement, guest experience, and membership support in line with the museum's mission.

The position requires recruiting and managing volunteers, partners, and members; creating newsletters and invitations; and assisting with events and exhibits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Two years of customer service experience.
• Two years’ experience managing and creating social media content.
• Two years’ experience creating flyers, promotional materials, and other visual content using Canva or similar graphic design software.
• Two years of professional experience in membership management, event coordination, or non-profit/community relations.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard, and manage volunteers, student interns, docents, and service groups.
• Recruit and manage partnerships with educational and cultural organizations, non-profit groups, and local businesses.
• Manage the member database and member communications.
• Create routine digital newsletters, promotional updates, and event invitations.
• Assist with guest relations, greeting visitors, and handling transactions.
• Assist with exhibits, programs, and special events.
• Assist in training, supervising and evaluating volunteers and/or students.
• May serve as liaison among other agencies involved in related types of work to coordinate efforts.
• Maintains records, equipment and supplies as needed.
• Maintains membership records and renewals.
• Completion of work assignments may require the operation of a vehicle.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
