Job summary

Social Model Recovery Systems in Los Angeles seeks a Community Engagement Coordinator to support prevention efforts in Boyle Heights and Skid Row. You will engage homeless and at-risk populations, deliver education on opioids, stimulants, overdose risks, and connect individuals to treatment and recovery resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public health, public policy, social sciences, or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience supporting substance use prevention through community outreach and public education.
• Experience working with diverse populations and building community partnerships is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage community members and administer surveys to identify needs and gaps.
• Provide education on opioids, stimulants, overdose prevention, and recovery options.
• Connect PEH and other at-risk individuals with appropriate services and resources.
• Build and maintain relationships with housing, healthcare, substance use disorder treatment, and mental health providers.
• Collect, manage, and report program data for internal and external stakeholders.
