Zusammenfassung

Helpline Youth Counseling seeks a Community Engagement Specialist to support the Community Collaboration Program in Los Angeles County. You will collaborate with partners, youth, and community members to plan and promote substance prevention initiatives and events.

The role requires engaging diverse groups, coordinating coalitions, and delivering outreach through meetings, trainings, and social channels with a focus on SPF-aligned strategies. Occasional travel may be needed.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is highly desired.
• Experience in providing substance use prevention or related public health services is preferred.
• Experience coordinating with diverse community groups and SPF-aligned prevention efforts.

Aufgaben

• Assist in providing community assessments for youth and other members in SPA-7.
• Develop and maintain coalitions; inform and engage local community members and agencies.
• Engage diverse community members from public and private sectors in SPA 7 area.
• Lead and facilitate capacity-building events like summits and town halls.
• Increase awareness of substance use harms among youth and young people.
• Provide support and technical assistance to community partners.
• Coordinate substance prevention activities and events.
• Implement evidence-based prevention strategies and document outcomes.
• Attend meetings and trainings as required.
