Job summary

AECOM in New York, NY is seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator to plan and coordinate outreach across NYCHA developments. You will work with resident associations and stakeholders to ensure timely notification and input on relocation, design and construction aspects.

Ideal candidates have a BA/BS or equivalent, US citizenship, and 2+ years of engagement with disadvantaged populations, with strong written and verbal communication and knowledge of NYC public housing.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent experience.
• US citizenship required.
• 2+ years engagement with disadvantaged populations.
• Clear written and verbal communication; diplomatic when needed.
• Knowledge of NYC public housing and stakeholder strategies.
• Experience around construction sites; procurement and design knowledge.
• Proficiency in MS Office, e-Builder, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute multi-stakeholder meetings per engagement plan across Pre-Planning/Procurement, Design/Relocation and Construction.
• Coordinate and provide regular communication to questions and concerns from residents.
• Engage residents via phone calls, flyers/brochures, and door-to-door canvassing.
• Schedule regular updates to tenants, associations, and residents.
• Present at meetings and workshops.
• Solicit updates from construction, relocation, and other teams for resident sharing.
• Ensure materials are informative, easily digestible, and translated.
