Job summary

Minnesota Council of Churches (MCC) is seeking a Community Navigator to support Immigrants and Refugees, promoting family stabilization, self-sufficiency, and goal attainment in MCC programs. The role links participants with MCC resources and community services, provides language interpretation, cultural support, and academic mentoring to families and new arrivals.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Spanish or Somali.
• Previous experience with refugees, asylees, or recent immigrants is strongly preferred.
• Previous experience in social services, community navigation, case management, or related field is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and transportation; Minnesota residency requirement compliance noted.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments to determine client eligibility for MCC programs.
• Develop individualized plans with participants to reach goals and meet guidelines.
• Provide program orientation and conduct intakes, screenings, and employment assessments.
• Assist clients in overcoming barriers to job search and workplace success; match with opportunities.
• Provide ongoing case management and referrals to MCC services and community resources.
• Document contacts and services in case files; maintain outcomes reporting and regular program reports.
