Job summary

The Whole Child in Whittier, CA seeks a Mental Health Specialist to provide targeted case management and rehabilitative services to children and families under supervision. You will work with the Program Director and Clinical Supervisor to connect clients with community resources and implement individualized supports.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in mental health casework, strong writing skills, and willingness to work in homes, schools, and community settings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of work experience related to providing case management or rehabilitative services in a mental health setting.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Willingness to work in homes, schools, and other non-traditional environments.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish may be required in certain locations and/or positions.
• Strong writing skills are required and must document clearly.
• Commitment to children and families and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the supervisor to meet community needs and schedule activities.
• Assist in Outreach and Engagement (O&E).
• Link clients to medical, educational, social, or other services and provide referrals.
• Identify needs/triggers and escalate as needed to treatment team.
• Participate in child/family team (CFT) meetings.
• Provide Intensive Care Coordination (ICC) and IHBS services as required.
• Maintain confidentiality and complete required charting within deadlines.
• Attend weekly supervision and team meetings and participate in trainings.
