Job summary

Hillcrest Children Center is seeking a Community Support Worker to promote mental health and address behavioral health needs among children, adolescents, adults, and families. The role emphasizes individualized treatment and assisting clients toward independence through community resources and referrals.

You will conduct needs assessments, manage 25-40 cases, and maintain meticulous records in compliance with policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Practical knowledge of therapeutic techniques and skill-building interventions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage priorities and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate post-placement services and comprehensive case management for unaccompanied children (UC).
• Complete individualized needs assessments and develop case plans, considering culture, language, and special circumstances.
• Manage a caseload of 25-40 cases.
• Maintain high standards of record-keeping per USCRI and ORR policies.
• Provide information, education, referrals, outreach, advocacy, and support to ensure each child receives necessary services.
• Continuously assess placement safety and appropriateness using child welfare principles via calls, interviews, and home visits.
• Build a network of local pro bono legal resources and service providers for UC and sponsors, and track progress.
• Coordinate and maintain communication with key stakeholders.
• Participate in regular training and sessions with supervisor and headquarters staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
