Job summary

West Central Behavioral Health is seeking a Community Support Specialist to help children and families navigate mental health challenges in their homes, schools, and communities. You’ll build targeted skills to improve daily functioning and support client progress alongside a dedicated team.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Social Work, Rehabilitation, Psychology, Education or related human services field with 2 years working with person(s) who have severe mental disability or understanding of mental illness acquired through provision of support to family members with mental illness.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services to clients and their families in their natural environments — home, school, or the community.
  • Through targeted skill building, help clients manage symptoms that impact daily functioning.
  • Maintain accurate records and coordinate with team to support client progress.
