Job summary

Fairfield Residential is seeking a Community Manager for The Belhaven Apartments (349 units) in Alexandria, VA. Lead a dynamic team, manage financial performance, and ensure residents love where they live.

The role blends leadership, operations, and customer service in a fast-paced setting. You will drive budgets, optimize occupancy, oversee marketing programs, and enhance resident retention while ensuring compliance with fair housing laws.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Industry certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license may be required.
  • 3+ years hands-on property management experience.
  • Multifamily property experience required.
  • Previous Community Manager experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements (budget, financial reports, P&L statements, GL, etc.).
  • Experience managing housing vouchers and Subsidy rent payments.
  • Experience in budgeting.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; Yardi or PM software.
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local fair housing laws.
  • Track record of maintaining occupancy and NOI in multi-family property management positions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and some holidays.

About the Role

As a Community Manager for a property with over 300 units, you’ll lead a dynamic team, manage financial performance, and ensure residents love where they live. This role combines leadership, operations, and customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Lead and Develop Teams

  • Coordinate seamless resident move-ins.
Elevate Marketing and Customer Service
  • Execute marketing programs and maintain accurate online presence.

  • Address and resolve resident concerns professionally.

What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Industry certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license may be required.
  • 3 or more years of hands-on property management experience.
  • Multifamily property experience required.
  • Previous Community Manager experience preferred.
  • A successful track record as a supervisor is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements such as budget, financial reports, P&L Statements, General Ledger, etc.
  • Experience managing housing vouchers and Subsidy rent payments.
  • Experience in writing and maintaining budgets.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of Yardi or other property management accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local fair housing laws and provisions.
  • A previous track record of maintaining occupancy and net operating incomes in multi-family property management positions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
Estimated Rate of Pay:

$81,478.26 - $105,921.74

This position is exempt; the range above reflects annual salary. The pay range displayed for this position is determined by skills and experience required, location and job complexity*. Potential job offers may vary based on the skills, education, and experience an individual candidate holds. This range reflects base rate only, and does not include allowances, perks, commissions or bonuses applicable to this position (if any). In addition to base salary, Fairfield offers all full time associates the following, upon meeting eligibility requirements:

Pay range is a calculation based on a midpoint price. Fairfield complies with all wage and hour laws, including minimum wage and salary exempt requirements.
