Job summary

UMH Properties, Inc. is seeking a full-time Maintenance person for Wellington Estates Community. The role covers groundskeeping, basic home repairs, and safety compliance across community homes and lots.

The incumbent will drive through the community to inspect areas and perform scheduled maintenance, with overtime and on-call responsibilities. The position requires a valid driver’s license, experience in home repairs and plumbing, and the ability to operate heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Broad range of experience in home repairs, general plumbing, grounds maintenance and operation of heavy equipment.
• Snow plow experience.
• Ability to prioritize safety in all job duties and attend periodic safety trainings.
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.

Responsibilities

• Drive UMH vehicles through the community to inspect common areas.
• Repair and maintain community-owned homes and lots.
• Maintain grounds: mowing, weed eating, leaves, snow plowing.
• Keep work areas clean and safe; dispose waste properly and keep aisles clear.
• Take daily readings from water plant and inspect pump stations where required.
• Keep a log of all work performed and complete periodic training on safety.
• May assist with new home installations such as connecting sewer and water lines.
• Follow lockout procedures and operate a variety of power/tools safely.
