Job summary

Bridgeway is hiring a Community Living Coach / DSP to support adults with developmental, intellectual, psychiatric, or other disabilities in Macomb, IL. You will help clients explore goals, promote independent living, and link with community resources.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid, and relevant credentials (DSP/CNA/EMT) or equivalent experience. Background checks are mandatory.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with clean record and reliable transportation.
• DSP/CNA/EMT certification or relevant credential preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required; DSP credential and medication training may be completed.
• DMH credentialing requirements for RSA in relevant settings if applicable.

• Implement consumer-centered plans with focus on skills training in daily living.
• Promote activities that develop social and leisure skills within home and via community resources.
• Develop a respectful helping relationship to promote recovery and reintegration into the community.

Location: Macomb, IL 61455 | Position Type: Full Time | Salary: $18.55 - $18.55 per hour

Community Living Coach / DSP

Bridgeway is looking for Community Living Coaches/DSP to support adults with developmental, intellectual, psychiatric, and other disabilities. The Coach encourages them to explore their goals and chart their journeys, promoting a full, active life within the community. This role reports to the Community Housing Coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Implement selected aspects of the consumer-centered plans with focus on skills training in basic survival and daily independent living skills.
• Promote and provide activities that develop social and leisure skills within the home environment and through linkage with external community resources.
• Develop a respectful helping and supportive relationship with each consumer to promote recovery and reintegration into the mainstream of community living.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving history and reliable transportation.
• Direct Support Professional (DSP), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or similar experience is a plus.
• Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification, complete the Direct Support Person (DSP) credential and Medication training program.
• For mental health residential settings: minimum 21 years of age and required to meet Department of Mental Health (DMH) credentialing requirements of a Residential Services Associate (RSA). Not applicable to developmentally disabled settings.
• Successful completion of all background checks.
