Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework encouraged.
• Some experience with public/customer service preferred.
• Must possess a valid Virginia driver's license and have a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons in the use of the library and materials collection.
• Handle circulation tasks: registering borrowers, charging, renewing, or discharging materials, placing requests, receiving fines and fees.
• Manage public computer usage and provide assistance with public computer workstations.
• Provide reader's advisory and reference service for patrons.
• Assist patrons with library equipment and personal devices.
• Perform inventory and deselection processes as directed.
• Supervise and train volunteers as needed.
• Provide technology instruction and cash handling per procedures.
• Drive outreach vehicle and participate in community outreach events.
