Job summary

The Customer Engagement Associate (CEA) at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh serves patrons with a welcoming, service‑oriented approach at the Mt. Washington location.

You will assist customers, handle circulation tasks, locate materials, answer basic reference questions, and help users with computer equipment. This part‑time role runs 25 hours per week, including days, evenings and weekends, at $16.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to greet customers and handle inquiries professionally.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Meet diverse customer needs with a welcoming service style.
• Answer phones, greet customers, and direct them to staff or resources.
• Perform circulation duties: check in/out materials, register cards, holds.
• Assist customers by locating materials and using library equipment.
• Provide basic reference assistance and computer support.
• Maintain inventory and assist with clerical tasks and data entry.
