Job summary

King William County Library System seeks a Branch Manager I to oversee daily operations of a small library system under the Deputy Director. Lead staff, promote exceptional patron service, and align procedures with organizational standards in a community-centered setting.

The role emphasizes guiding programming, outreach, and promotions while ensuring privacy compliance and strong stakeholder collaboration. Strong leadership and a dedication to community service are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MLIS or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience, preferably in a library or related public service environment.
• Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in library management and/or administration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the library's programming and outreach team, including regular team meetings.
• Propose and prioritize programming and outreach initiatives for Deputy Director approval.
• Develop and distribute the programming and outreach schedule across platforms and teams.
• Oversee and coordinate all library promotional efforts, including print materials and social media.
