Job summary

The King William County Library System invites applications for a Branch Manager at the Upper King William Branch in King William, VA. This role leads daily operations, supports a strong patron focus, and collaborates with the Library Director to advance service goals.

Requires MLS/MLIS, 1–3 years supervisory experience, and proven communication skills. Evening and weekend hours are required, with the position based at the King William branch and occasional shifts at West Point.

Qualifications

• MLS or MLIS required.
• 1-3 years of supervisory or management experience.
• 1-3 years of library management/administration experience.
• Strong communication skills (spoken and written).
• Ability to adapt in a changing work environment while maintaining performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead programming and outreach at the branch, coordinating with the Director.
• Develop and distribute programming/outreach schedules across platforms.
• Oversee promotional efforts (print, social media, website).
• Identify innovative strategies to improve operations and create new services.
• Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to set goals and drive outcomes.
• Support planning and execution of the branch's strategic plan.
