Job summary

Woodcraft Rangers seeks a Community Liaison to support after-school programs in Cerritos, CA. The role is part-time and non-exempt, offering 20–25 hours per week with shifts varying by location.

The Community Liaison builds positive relationships with participants, families and the community, oversees daily sign-ins/outs, maintains attendance rosters, and communicates program events and field trips. On-site training at Little Tokyo and school sites are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• FBI & DOJ Livescan clearance.
• TB Test clearance.
• First Aid & CPR certification.
• 6 months experience supervising a group of children in a school or recreational setting OR 6 units in child development.
• Must successfully pass an assessment test evaluating skills in math, reading comprehension, and spelling.

Responsibilities

• Ensure students are always in a safe environment (physically and emotionally).
• Promote an inclusive, welcoming environment for all participants, staff, and families.
• Support club leaders and site coordinators with sign-in/out procedures and parent communication.
• Monitor attendance and engagement and maintain accurate rosters.
• Organize registration forms, site binder and ensure staff have access to documents.
• Assist with cycle reports and other required reports.
• Assist team with site-based events.
• Serve as substitute when needed.
• Build positive relationships with participants and stakeholders.
• Adhere to safety requirements and training certifications.
