Job summary

First Western Bank is seeking a full-time Consumer Lender for our Harrisburg, SD location. The role involves soliciting, evaluating, underwriting, approving or recommending loan approvals, and coordinating closings for consumer, mortgage, HELOC, and related loan programs.

You will develop new business, service a portfolio, cross-sell bank services, assess credit risk, explain terms and conditions, and ensure compliance with lending policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Finance, Business, or Economics.
• Experience in consumer lending with knowledge of in-house mortgage, construction, and real estate loan procedures preferred.
• Other banking related experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Solicits, evaluates, underwriting, approving or recommending approval, and coordinates closing of consumer loans and related credit products.
• Develops new business and services an existing portfolio; cross-sells services to meet client needs.
• Analyzes applicants’ financial condition and assesses risk within the Bank’s lending framework.
• Reviews credit histories, financial statements, and other information to determine credit worthiness.
• Negotiates terms and conditions and presents loan applications outside limits for higher authority approval.
• Advises clients on financial status, payments methods, including rate locks and closing dates.
• Coordinates processing of approved loans and ensures conformance with lending policies.
• Approves disbursements, draws on lines of credit, and fund transfers within limits.
• Negotiates payment arrangements with delinquent borrowers.
• Analyzes loan markets and develops referral networks to locate prospects.
