Job summary

Amity Foundation in Los Angeles is seeking compassionate individuals to join as a Cook in our prison program. You will prepare meals on time, uphold sanitation, nutrition and safety, and follow recipes to maintain quality and cost control.

You will work with the Food Service Manager to plan and present three balanced meals daily, assist with ordering and storage, rotate menus, train students, and participate in Community Building activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required or in progress.
• At least 1 year of related culinary experience or training.
• Must have a valid state driver's license and ServeSafe certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare three balanced meals daily with focus on sanitation, nutrition, and safety.
• Assist in ordering and storing food per health standards.
• Follow monthly rotation menu and maintain dining room/kitchen hygiene.
• Train students in cooking, food prep, presentation, and daily hygiene practices.
• Attend Community Building day activities and adhere to community schedule.
