Amity Foundation invites compassionate individuals to join as a Cook for the LACTC project. The Cook will prepare three balanced meals daily, ensure sanitation and safety, and follow recipes to manage quality and costs.

The role involves assisting in ordering, adhering to CDPH standards, and training students in food service skills while supporting community activities and timely meal service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or working toward HS diploma or GED.
• One year related culinary experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current state driver’s license.
• ServeSafe Certification.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain social, ethical, and organizational values and norms; build trust and confidence with staff and students; respect confidentiality.
• Applies high-performance standards to all work-related activities.

Responsabilités

• Works with the Food Service Manager to plan, prepare, and present three balanced meals daily for the program.
• Assist in ordering and storing food meeting CDPH and LA County Health Dept standards.
• Follow the monthly rotation menu and maintain kitchen and dining room cleanliness.
• Help train students in cooking, food prep, and meal presentation; daily hygiene and storage procedures.
• Attend Community Building day activities and follow the Community schedule.
