Job summary

Amity Foundation in Los Angeles seeks a Cook to prepare three daily meals for the program, ensuring sanitation, nutrition, and safety while following recipes for quality and cost control.

The Cook will work with the Food Service Manager on planning, ordering, and training students in food service skills, including cooking and presentation, and will participate in Community Building activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or working toward HS diploma.
• One year related culinary experience and/or training.
• Current state driver’s license.
• ServeSafe Certification.
• Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain confidentiality with staff and students.
• Applies high-performance standards to all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and present three balanced meals daily for the program.
• Assist in ordering and storing food meeting CDPH and LA County standards.
• Follow the monthly rotation menu.
• Maintain high sanitation and safety in kitchen and dining areas.
• Train students in cooking, prep, and presentation, including hygiene.
• Attend Community Building day activities and follow schedules.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
