Job summary

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring for a Cook to provide residents and guests with a pleasant dining experience through the preparation and service of nutritious meals. The role supports the Dining Director/Executive Chef and works in a team-focused, resident-centric environment.

The position involves following recipes, developing menus, assisting with inventory, and ensuring sanitary kitchen conditions while delivering high-quality meals to residents and guests.

Qualifications

• Must have previous kitchen experience.
• Sanitation Certification (ServSafe) or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Must be flexible and accommodating to residents and guests.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Must have a solid work ethic, positive attitude, and be a good team player.

Responsibilities

• Follows written recipes and prepares high quality, delicious, and nutritious meals.
• Assists in developing menus and special meals based on a daily prep list.
• Helps with inventory and ordering for the dining program.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary working environment and cleans equipment and dishes.
• Performs various cooking methods including baking, frying, cold salad prep, sautéing, and short-order cooking.
