Job summary

The Salvation Army North and Central Illinois Division is seeking a Cook at Evangeline Booth Lodge in Chicago to prepare meals for the nutrition program and support residents and the community in a team-focused environment.

Responsibilities include following the menu, receiving deliveries, maintaining sanitation, and assisting kitchen staff. Must have a Chicago Sanitation License and 3+ years cooking experience in a fast-paced kitchen.

Qualifications

• Must possess current Chicago Sanitation License.
• Minimum 3 years of cooking experience; experience cooking for large groups in a fast-paced kitchen is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to the identified menu.
• Receive deliveries and stock storerooms and coolers.
• Keep kitchen, ovens and equipment clean; maintain health and sanitation standards.
• Assist and supervise kitchen staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
