Instructors may teach multiple courses and will coordinate onboarding with the Education Administrator, develop syllabi, and guide students in hands-on woodshop projects. You will create lesson plans, manage supplies, and ensure timely submissions.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate beginner-to-advanced techniques and tailor instruction to each student.
• Foster inclusive, respectful, and safe studio environment.
• Begin and end each session on time.
• Complete survey and assessment requirements.

The Office of Engagement at the Art Academy of Cincinnati is hiring contracted instructor positions for community courses. We are currently seeking to match instructors for Fall and Spring courses. Instructors can teach more than one course at a time if applicable.

Dates: October 14th-November 18th

Responsibilities

• Communicating with the Education Administrator to coordinate instructor onboarding and orientation
• Creating a syllabus and lesson plans that include active learning and making
• Collaborating on supply lists for the course
• Submitting lessons, supply lists, a syllabus, and any requests by the deadline
• Instruction of studio-based lessons with the objective of teaching specific skills to students while giving them the space to create work on the subject matter they choose
• Demonstrating beginner-to-advanced techniques applicable to the course and customizing instruction for each student's skill level
• Challenging a class of up to 12 students with personal review of their work and facilitating positive and supportive peer-based review conversations or critiques
• Fostering an inclusive, respectful, and safe studio environment for all students
• Beginning and ending each session on time
• Completing survey and assessment requirements

Experience and Skills Required

• A degree in art, design, education, language, or a related field. Advanced commensurate experience in a studio practice, method, media, or technique will also be considered.
