Job summary

You will join the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation as a School of Visual Arts Instructor, bringing art to life for participants of all ages. You will plan, teach, and inspire across after-school, community, and senior living classes, while supporting Open Studio sessions.

The ideal candidate has two or more years of teaching experience, strong organization, and a passion for art education, with ability to engage diverse communities and maintain professional classroom standards.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of teaching experience.
• Ability to teach a range of visual art classes.
• Strong organization and time management.
• Comfort with diverse demographics and community programs.

Responsibilities

• Instruct multiple visual art classes per week (after-school, senior living, community).
• Create and maintain age-appropriate lesson plans with setup, instruction, student work, and cleanup.
• Supervise Open Studio sessions twice a month.
• Communicate concepts clearly and cultivate creativity and skill in students.
• Maintain knowledge of art history and trends to teach varied art styles.
• Manage time effectively, arrive early, and end classes on time.
• Assist with inventory and ordering of supplies.
• Follow registration/attendance procedures using Club Automation and Google Suite.
• Maintain professional communication with managers, directors, and facilities team.
• Adhere to policies and complete additional duties as assigned.
