Job summary

Art Academy of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, OH, seeks contracted Community Instructor for Woodshop Skills to lead Fall and Spring courses. Dates: October 14th-November 18th.

Instructors may teach multiple courses and will coordinate onboarding with the Education Administrator, develop syllabi, and guide students in hands-on woodshop projects. You will create lesson plans, manage supplies, and ensure timely submissions.

Qualifications

• Degree in art, design, education, language, or a related field.
• Advanced studio practice experience in a method or media.
• Teaching experience with diverse age groups.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate instructor onboarding and orientation with Education Administrator.
• Create syllabus and lesson plans including active learning and making.
• Collaborate on supply lists for the course.
• Submit lessons, supply lists, a syllabus, and any requests by deadline.
• Instruct studio-based lessons to teach specific skills and allow student creativity.
• Demonstrate beginner-to-advanced techniques and tailor instruction to each student.
• Foster inclusive, respectful, and safe studio environment.
• Begin and end each session on time.
• Complete survey and assessment requirements.
